Education built to last
Education runs through Samia’s work. She founded and directed Early Years Academy from 1985 to 2023 and Prince William Academy from 1995 to 2025. Those long periods of service reflect an approach to institution building grounded in daily responsibility, as well as the original idea.
She also taught in Strayer University’s MBA programme and served as lead consultant to King Abdullah Academy. Together, these roles span founding schools, higher education and advisory work.
Leadership beyond a single institution
Alongside her educational and business roles, Samia has worked in civil society, human rights and democratic reform. For Samia, institution building is a practical responsibility: understanding how an organization works, how it serves people and how its leadership is accountable.
She founded SHENT as a vehicle for continuing that work across education, advisory activity and community-focused development. The company carries her name, while its projects reach into a growing range of fields.
A continuing commitment on Denman Island
Samia’s current work on Denman Island centres on stewardship and building with intention. Camp Denman is a major current project, bringing together learning, creativity, collaboration and community.
Today, Camp Denman is by far the largest recipient of SHENT investment. The not-for-profit Camp Denman Society operates the camp; SHENT supports it with investment, digital tools and creative technology.
